Waco Foundations is committed to improving quality of life for McLennan County residents. The Foundation utilizes high-quality research and data to advice grantmaking and community programming, and the data regularly demonstrates some of our residents are not afforded the same opportunities or experiences as their counterparts.

We agree with the adage, “Diagnosis determines treatment,” and realize an inadequate understanding of a complex problem will yield inadequate or incomplete solutions. 

To that end, we are working to implement thoughtful programming and strategies that equip our community with the information, training, resources and network connections needed to devise and implement programs and services that help create the kind of change we want to see.

More specifically, we seek to:

• Help our community develop a common language and understanding of the factors influencing local challenges.
• Offer individuals information, tools, training and resources that aid in their professional development and strengthen their capacity to help address local challenges. 
• Support agencies, departments or institutions as they work to assess their organizational culture and structure, programming and services, and revise their approaches as they attempt to tackle the root causes of inequity or inequality. 
• Build a networks of support, continuous learning and improvement.
